Aims and Objective of UHRC

  1. To promote and protect the fundamental constitutional rights of common people.
  2. To seek public support in solving social problems and promote respect for all individuals without discrimination.
  3. To foster social culture and character, creating a peaceful environment for all.
  4. To encourage citizens of India to abide by their rights and duties.
  5. To help eliminate social evils, especially those affecting the weaker sections of society.
  6. To assist victims of natural and man-made calamities (e.g., floods, famine, fire, earthquakes, cyclones, tsunamis, accidents) either directly or through the Prime Minister’s or Chief Ministers’ funds.
  7. To establish, manage, and run medical hospitals, clinics, dispensaries, mobile dispensaries, and health centers to provide medical treatment to the common people, especially those in need.
  8. To run free or low-cost educational institutions for the underprivileged, and promote projects focused on nutrition, sanitation, health, and community development in underdeveloped areas.
  9. To award scholarships, prizes, and recognition to brilliant, brave, and deserving individuals in various fields.
  10. To publish books, charts, illustrations, periodicals, websites, and other publications to promote the HRCP (Human Rights & Community Protection) society.
  11. To provide help to physically and mentally handicapped individuals.
  12. To run medical laboratories, test centers, and research facilities for the poor and needy patients.
  13. To manage community centers like community halls, marriage halls, dharamshalas, public water stations, toilets, childcare centers, cultural groups, drama troupes, music groups, and folk dance groups.
  14. To work against social evils such as child marriage, dowry, child labor, bonded labor, and wasteful spending.
  15. To establish rehabilitation centers for the destitute, widows, elderly, the poor, beggars, handicapped, and mentally challenged individuals to aid their social upliftment.
  16. To work toward eradicating social evils like drug abuse, alcoholism, cigarette and bidi consumption.
  17. To organize awareness campaigns on these social evils using all available means.
  18. To create awareness generation kits (e.g., posters, banners, videos, documentaries) on various social issues to fulfill the society’s goals.
  19. To approach relevant authorities to address people’s problems in different societies.
  20. To establish plant nurseries and farms, especially for the cultivation of Ayurvedic plants, flowers, and fruits, to promote environmental sustainability and control pollution.
  21. To maintain Indian art, culture, and educational programs, and provide training in music, dance, arts, and other cultural activities.
  22. To organize blood donation and eye donation camps, eye operation camps, mobile hospitals, and ambulance services for the poor and needy.
  23. To promote family planning awareness and control overpopulation as per government policies.
  24. To educate the public on pollution control, and encourage water harvesting and conservation.
  25. To raise nursery and plantation lands with permission from government and the public.
  26. To ensure cleanliness in residential, slum, and rural areas, and promote healthy environmental awareness for the welfare of the common people.
  27. To organize charity shows and cultural programs for public entertainment and to raise funds for the society.
  28. To oppose and agitate against harmful superstitions and rituals that exploit people.
  29. To promote scientific thinking, skepticism, humanism, and critical analysis of religion, traditions, and customs.
  30. To collaborate with progressive social reform organizations for the advancement of social justice.
  31. To promote interdependence among countries in areas of cooperation, aiming to reduce poverty and improve the quality of life for all.
  32. To expand the trade and financial markets within the country and increase the bargaining power of Asian countries to enhance global economic competitiveness.
  33. To foster a more equitable international community, contributing positively towards mutual peace and prosperity.
  34. To promote human rights, including:

  1. To ensure the protection of human rights through effective implementation of the Human Rights Protection Act, addressing violations and taking action against perpetrators.
  2. To stand against the violation of human rights, such as child labor, environmental degradation, inequalities, atrocities, racial discrimination, violence against women, and other abuses.
  3. To work for the eradication of crimes against humanity, including breaches of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and international human rights laws.
  4. To work for the upliftment of individuals through various programs promoting dignity, liberty, equality, and respect for human rights, regardless of caste, creed, race, gender, language, ethnicity, or religion.
  5. To collect and document evidence of human rights abuses, and report such violations to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) for enforcement of human rights laws.
  6. To promote and protect civil and political rights, including freedom from slavery, torture, fair trials, and freedom of expression.
  7. To advocate for economic, social, and cultural rights, and ensure access to basic human needs such as education, employment, and healthcare.
  8. To ensure protection against violations of environmental human rights, including the right to water, sanitation, and a healthy environment.
  9. To safeguard the right to a fair trial and protect the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion.
  10. To spread awareness about human genome, biodiversity, cultural heritage, and global peace.
  11. To promote social and cultural events in Goa, fostering peace and harmony among youth, children, and the elderly.
  12. To preserve humanity and strengthen civil society, addressing the root causes of human rights violations such as underdevelopment and social issues.
  13. To report violations of privacy rights and custodial violence to the relevant authorities for intervention.
  14. To advocate for international peacekeeping actions in response to human rights violations, including genocide, torture, and sexual violence.
  15. To alleviate poverty and promote transformational development for marginalized communities, ensuring basic human rights.
  16. To promote education, skill development, and rural development, establishing institutions to help alleviate poverty and provide access to basic necessities such as food, clean water, shelter, education, and livelihoods.
  17. To support women and child development, working towards economic empowerment and the elimination of gender-based violence, trafficking, and inequality.
  18. To create a collaborative system for innovation and entrepreneurship, focusing on national and international experts to drive positive social change.
  19. To promote traditional medicine, including yoga, naturopathy, and Ayurveda, alongside modern healthcare practices.
