Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility:
   • The UHRC Human Rights Award 2024 is open to individuals who have demonstrated significant and impactful work in the promotion and protection of human rights.
   • Nominees can be from any nationality, and must have contributed to the advancement of human rights globally or locally.
   • Nominees should not be currently involved in any activities that contradict the values of human rights, equality, dignity, and justice.
2. Nomination Process:
   • Nominations must be submitted through the official UHRC Human Rights Award 2024 nomination portal or as specified by UHRC.
   • Nominees can be nominated by any individual, organization, or group.
   • Self-nominations will not be accepted.
   • All nominations must be accompanied by a detailed biography of the nominee, explaining their contributions to human rights and justifying why they should be considered for the award.
3. Nomination Deadline:
   • All nominations must be submitted by 20th Jan 2024.
   • Late or incomplete nominations will not be considered.
4. Criteria for Selection:
   • The nominee's contributions must reflect a strong commitment to the core values of human rights, including but not limited to equality, dignity, justice, and fairness.
   • Nominees should have demonstrated leadership in advocating for human rights and social change.
   • The impact of the nominee’s work on the community or the global human rights movement will be a key factor in selection.
   • The nominee’s work should align with UHRC’s mission and values.
5. Award Categories:
   • The UHRC Human Rights Award 2024 will recognize individuals in the following categories:
     • Lifetime Achievement in human rights advocacy
     • Emerging Leader in human rights
     • Advocacy for Equality and Justice
     • Other categories as decided by the UHRC Committee.
6. Judging Panel:
   • All nominations will be reviewed and evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges appointed by the Unified Human Rights Council.
   • The judging panel’s decision is final, and no appeals will be entertained.
7. Award Presentation:
   • The UHRC Human Rights Award 2024 will be presented at an official ceremony hosted by the Unified Human Rights Council.
   • Date, time, and location of the award ceremony will be communicated to the finalists and the public.
8. Award Benefits:
   • Recipients of the UHRC Human Rights Award 2024 will receive a trophy, certificate, and public recognition at the award ceremony.
   • Additional benefits or opportunities may be offered at the discretion of UHRC.
9. Privacy and Data Protection:
   • Personal information provided during the nomination process will be kept confidential and will only be used for the purpose of processing the nomination.
   • By submitting a nomination, the nominator and nominee consent to UHRC’s use of their names, photographs, and biographies for promotional purposes related to the award.
10. Disqualification:
    • Any nominee found to have provided false information, violated the core principles of human rights, or engaged in unethical behavior may be disqualified from the nomination process.
    • The Unified Human Rights Council reserves the right to disqualify any nominee at any stage if it is deemed appropriate.
11. Limitation of Liability:
    • The Unified Human Rights Council will not be liable for any claims, damages, or losses arising from the nomination process or the award itself.
    • All participants in the nomination process agree to release UHRC from any legal claims.
12. Changes to Terms:
    • The Unified Human Rights Council reserves the right to modify or update these terms and conditions at any time.
    • Any changes will be communicated to nominees and the public through official channels.
